National Award Finalist 2025

As a Digital Technologies teacher for Prep to Year 6, Samantha is passionate about creating authentic, real-world learning experiences that spark curiosity and joy. Her classroom is a space where students are encouraged to think critically, dream big, and design with empathy.

Through projects in game development, robotics, and software design, Samantha uses competitions as a framework for empathy-driven learning, guiding students to consider how their creations can positively impact others. She harnesses software and game design to teach coding, logic, and storytelling, empowering young learners to combine technical skill with creative purpose.

Samantha’s students have been recognised on national and international stages, achieving success at RoboRave International, Moonhack, the Queensland Science Contest, Raspberry Pi’s Coolest Projects, and Young ICT Explorers. These achievements reflect not only technical excellence but also a deep commitment to solving problems with empathy, imagination, and collaboration — values at the heart of Samantha’s teaching philosophy.
